Marown TV was established in 1976 - though its roots go back much further to the 1960's when Lewin Thornton formed Marown Television and Radio services. Continuity and consistency are synonymous with the Marown TV name, and now, as a member of Euronics the company can proudly offer market-leading brands at highly competitive prices. Providing customers with a high-quality service is without doubt the driving force behind the Marown TV ethos.
In 1973 Lewin Thornton's step son-in-law was invited to join the business. Dave Leather barrow brought with him a wealth of experience from office administration & management to having worked in the wholesale electrical industry plus having a background of selling. In 1976 after considerable development and planning, Marown Television was given an overhaul, including a name change to Marown TV Ltd. The next few years was to see a substantial growth in Marown TV Ltd, as colour television became more widely available, then the introduction of Video Recorders. Further building expansion was necessary to keep up with the demand, as by now many of Marown TV's customers were requesting their chosen retailer to supply them with 'White Goods'.
Since then of course, technology has come a long way and Marown TV has expanded into the Electrical Store it is today. Following Dave's retirement in 2008 the business was taken over by Linda Watterson who has worked for the company since 1977.
